Job Summary

Code Kaboom Robotics Academy is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and experienced Programming and Robotics Teacher to inspire students through hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching programming, robotics, and engineering concepts using LEGO® robotics platforms and Makeblock mBot2 robots.

This position requires a strong passion for technology, creativity, problem-solving, and working with children and families in a positive learning environment.

The Programming and Robotics Master will lead interactive classes, guide students in robotics projects, teach the fundamentals of programming, and help students develop essential 21st century skills, including collaboration, communication, creativity, and computational thinking.

The candidate is required to be fully bilingual in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Main Functions and Responsibilities

• Teach programming and robotics classes using the curriculum provided by Code Kaboom Robotics Academy.

• Facilitate hands-on robotics activities using LEGO® robotics kits and mBot2 robots.

• Teach programming concepts, including:

• Block-based programming

• Scratch

• mBlock

• Robot programming

• Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• Sensors and automation

• Guide students in building, programming, testing, and troubleshooting robots.

• Create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.

• Encourage creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and innovation.

• Record student attendance and progress.

• Maintain and safeguard robotics equipment and educational materials.

• Support in the organization, preparation and inventory of robotics kits and technological equipment.

• Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and program coordinators.

• Participate in robotics exhibits, demonstrations, competitions, and family engagement events.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Experience working with children in school settings, after-school programs, summer camps, or educational programs.

• Programming experience is a must.

• Experience with LEGO® robotics platforms is a must.

• Experience with Makeblock mBot2 robots is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of Scratch, mBlock, Blockly or similar programming platforms.

• Strong group management skills.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Responsible, professional and reliable person.

• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching Credential or Certification.

• Experience in STEM Education.

• Experience coaching teams for robotics competitions.

• Academic training in Computer Science.

• Experience teaching Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts.

• Experience working with diverse student populations.

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
