As a System Safety Engineer II, your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
• Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).
• Assisting with analysis of engineering hardware and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance
• Working with test and tactical operating and maintenance procedures to assure the proper administrative controls are in place
• Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Provide creative solutions to maximize safety functionality without impeding critical performance.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
• Assist with design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements
• Assist with performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
• Collaborating with other disciplines during program technical execution,
• Interfacing with key stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
• Assisting in preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
• Assisting with briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
• Reviewing Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
• Assisting in preparation internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
• Experience with Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g. MIL-STD-882 / DO-178 • Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment
• Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, System Safety Working Groups
Security Clearance Required – Secret

Compensation: $180,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
