Primary Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and company regulations.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
- Transport materials, equipment, products, and/or passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and transported safely.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage reports, inspection reports, and other required records.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while adjusting for traffic, weather, and road conditions.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, incidents, and safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicles.
- Participate in required safety meetings and training programs.
- Assist with warehouse, yard, or transportation-related duties as assigned when not driving.
- Operate company vehicles to travel to and from service locations, ensuring proper setup, secure positioning, and safe return to base operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support transportation and operational needs.
- Minimum one (1) year experience operating commercial vehicles requiring a CDL.
- Clean driving record with demonstrated safe driving practices.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, delivery services, or passenger transportation.
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and DOT compliance requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for vehicle classification operated.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical), if applicable.
Preferred
- Additional transportation or safety certifications.
- Safe vehicle operation and defensive driving skills.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Route planning and logistics experience.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Experience using GPS, routing software, and ELD systems.
