ABOUT THE ROLE
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Water Damage Mitigation
- Extract water using pumps, wet vacs, and truck-mounted extraction equipment
- Set up, monitor, and adjust drying equipment: air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers
- Take moisture readings and document drying progress with a smartphone or tablet
- Perform light demolition — removing wet carpet, pad, baseboards, drywall, and trim
- Establish containment using plastic sheeting and zipper doors
Mold Remediation
- Set up negative air pressure containment zones per IICRC S520 and EPA protocols
- Remove and bag mold-affected materials safely
- Apply antimicrobial treatments and encapsulants
- HEPA-vacuum and wipe down surfaces; operate air filtration devices (AFDs)
- Maintain containment integrity and document remediation progress
General Field Duties
- Safe operation of hand tools and power tools (drills, saws, pry bars, etc.)
- Detailed cleaning: scrubbing, wiping, sanitizing, and deodorizing affected areas
- Handle customer belongings with care and empathy
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners and the office team
- Use smartphone apps for job documentation, photos, and tracking
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times
- Practice proper PPE use, chemical safety, and lifting techniques

- Water extraction and drying science
- Mold containment, removal, and remediation protocols
- Containment setup and negative air pressure techniques
- Light demolition procedures
- Equipment operation and maintenance
- Jobsite safety and PPE use
- Customer communication and job documentation
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable with squatting, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders
- Able to work in confined spaces (crawl spaces, attics) and varied temperatures
- Comfortable wearing PPE for extended periods (respirator, Tyvek suit, gloves)
- Hands-on or mechanically inclined background (personal or professional)
- Strong work ethic and positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and protocols
- Comfortable learning and using mobile apps for job documentation
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first approach
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience in construction, contracting, handyman work, or maintenance
- Experience in residential or commercial cleaning
- Prior exposure to restoration, remediation, or environmental work
- Existing IICRC certifications (we'll pay for additional training regardless)
