Job SummaryÂ
The Housekeeping & Laundry Manager is a seasonal, exempt position responsible for the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, including cleanliness standards, staff supervision, inventory management, and guest service support. This position reports to General Manager leadership and is a key member of the leadership team.Â
All team members at Borealis Basecamp are expected to maintain a team-first mindset, assist across departments when needed, and communicate confidently and professionally with guests from around the world.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Operational OversightÂ
- Manage day-to-day housekeeping and laundry operations across all guest accommodationsÂ
- Ensure consistent execution of Borealis Basecamp cleaning standards and SOPsÂ
- Coordinate room turnaround, deep cleaning schedules, and readiness for arrivalsÂ
- Support operational planning for high occupancy periods and group arrivalsÂ
- Identify and resolve room-related issues in a timely mannerÂ
- Other duties as assignedÂ
Team LeadershipÂ
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping and laundry staffÂ
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as neededÂ
- Maintain clear role definitions, job descriptions, and team organizationÂ
- Lead regular staff meetings and training sessions to reinforce standardsÂ
Laundry Operations & Environmental StandardsÂ
- Maintain high standards for all linens used in guest accommodationsÂ
- Oversee laundry processes, ensuring efficiency and quality controlÂ
- Ensure use of environmentally responsible products and practicesÂ
- Manage linen lifecycle, including replacement, waste reduction, and inventory controlÂ
Guest Experience & EscalationÂ
- Serve as the primary escalation point for housekeeping-related guest concernsÂ
- Address guest issues promptly, professionally, and in alignment with company standardsÂ
- Ensure guest accommodations consistently meet cleanliness and presentation expectationsÂ
Inventory, Systems & ComplianceÂ
- Manage departmental inventory, ordering, and supply levelsÂ
- Follow established ordering procedures and budget guidelinesÂ
- Maintain and utilize systems including: ADP, Flybook, MaintainX, and Microsoft Office SuiteÂ
- Track and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and department budgetÂ
Capacity Planning & Department OperationsÂ
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels based on occupancy and operational demandÂ
- Plan for seasonal fluctuations and group bookingsÂ
- Ensure consistent adherence to Borealis Basecamp policies and SOPsÂ
QualificationsÂ
- Preferred 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or related operationsÂ
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standardsÂ
- Proven ability to manage staff, schedules, and daily operationsÂ
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsÂ
- Ability to maintain a professional, solution-oriented demeanorÂ
- Strong communication and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to hold crucial conversations and manage performance issuesÂ
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and operational systemsÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent preferredÂ
- Previous hospitality or housekeeping management experience requiredÂ
Physical DemandsÂ
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periodsÂ
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbsÂ
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent activityÂ
- Ability to navigate uneven terrain and outdoor/low-light conditions as neededÂ
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedulesÂ
Compensation & BenefitsÂ
Performance BonusÂ
The Housekeeping & Laundry Manager is eligible for a semi-annual performance bonus of up to 10% annually of the manager’s base salary:Â
- Up to 5% end-of-seasonÂ
- Up to 5% end-of-yearÂ
Bonus eligibility and amounts are determined at the discretion of Borealis Basecamp based on financial performance, achievement of goals, and operational metrics. Bonuses are paid following May 15 or December 15, respectively.Â

Employee HousingÂ
Single occupancy room provided on-site at no cost. Amenities include shared common areas with TV, Wi-Fi, dining space, and an exercise area. Housing also includes shared private bathroom, laundry facilities, staff-prepared lunch and dinner, and a self-serve continental breakfast (oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc.).Â
