ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to help build a highly interactive, creator-focused product that blends modern web
engineering with AI-powered generation workflows. This person will work across polished frontend experiences, reliable
backend services, real-time interactions, and the infrastructure needed to keep creative workflows fast, stable, and intuitive.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
We are hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to help build a highly interactive, creator-focused product that blends modern web
engineering with AI-powered generation workflows. This person will work across polished frontend experiences, reliable
backend services, real-time interactions, and the infrastructure needed to keep creative workflows fast, stable, and intuitive.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Design and ship production-quality React and TypeScript interfaces for interaction-heavy creative workflows.
- Build backend services in Node.js or Python that support real production traffic and user-facing product features.
- Work with REST and WebSocket APIs, Postgres data models, Redis caching, observability, and production monitoring.
- Improve workflow performance across latency, queueing, cancellation, retries, error recovery, and user feedback states.
- Collaborate in a fast-moving small team environment where engineers write, test, deploy, measure, and iterate quickly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of serious React and TypeScript product engineering experience with shipped production work.
- Hands-on backend experience in Node.js or Python supporting real users and production traffic.
- Experience building interaction-heavy UI such as infinite canvas tools, editors, node graphs, media tools, or live workflow
- surfaces.
- Practical experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, Postgres, Redis, and production monitoring or debugging.
- Able and willing to work on-site in San Francisco.
STRONG MATCH BACKGROUND
- Built canvas-based, editor-style, graph-based, node-based, or workflow-builder product surfaces.
- Integrated image, video, audio, or other long-running generation APIs with thoughtful queueing and failure handling.
- Kept generation or creative workflows stable under load by managing latency, retries, cancellations, and recovery paths.
- Has a strong product sense and can clearly explain why a creative workflow feels fast, slow, confusing, or fragile.
- Comfortable shipping daily in a small team and using data or user feedback to improve the product.
BONUS EXPERIENCE
- Real-time or multiplayer systems, including WebSockets, CRDTs, collaborative editors, or live shared state.
- Experience using or integrating AI-generation APIs for image, video, audio, or creator tooling.
- Heavy personal or professional use of generative AI tools with strong taste for creator workflows and product quality.
THIS MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT IF
- You have less than 3 years of hands-on React and TypeScript product development experience.
- Your background is frontend-only with no meaningful production backend ownership.
- Most of your full-stack experience is limited to CRUD applications without complex UI or async workflow challenges.
- You are not comfortable reasoning about the quality, speed, and feel of creative product interactions.
- You are only considering remote roles, as this position requires on-site work in San Francisco.
Compensation: $150.00 - $190.00 per year
