About the Role:
Dr. Ferber's Animal Hospital in Pembroke Pines, FL is looking for a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team! Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cytology
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor and care for patients pre- and post-operatively
- Perform and assist with diagnostic imaging including X-rays and ultrasounds
- Maintain accurate patient medical records using veterinary practice management software
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care
- Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment are clean and properly sterilized
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques for various species
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-stress or emergency situations
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus
