Kaleidoscope Supply Services supports the staffing of this position on behalf of a client company. If selected, you will be employed directly by the client—not Kaleidoscope, the VA, or the federal government.
This role supports a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) federal contract. You will work alongside VA teams to help deliver services that support veterans and the VA’s mission.
About the Role
You will act as the central communications hub for facility transportation and fleet operations. You will schedule, route, and monitor drivers—including shuttle, bus, and valet operations—to ensure seamless passenger transit, minimal wait times, and maximum efficiency. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, clear radio communication, and the ability to adapt to changing transit demands or emergencies in real time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign, schedule, and route transport vehicles (buses, shuttles, and specialty carts) based on daily facility demands and direct service requests.
- Maintain continuous, clear radio or phone communication with all active drivers to monitor transit progress, track location, and provide real-time updates.
- Receive, prioritize, and log incoming transport requests from staff, patients, or visitors, managing pickup windows to ensure minimal wait times.
- Act as the primary point of contact for tracking vehicle issues, delays, or facility traffic blockages, re-routing operators as necessary to preserve schedule integrity.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs of driver shift schedules, trip counts, vehicle check-outs, and any reported incidents or maintenance updates.
- Coordinate closely with onsite parking and valet supervisors to balance vehicle arrival volumes during peak facility hours.
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in logistics, transportation dispatching, fleet routing, or a high-volume call/communications center.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, electronic logging systems, and standard computer applications (Word, Excel, or communication platforms).
- Excellent active listening, verbal communication, and problem-solving abilities; must remain calm and clear-headed under high-volume pressure.
- Strong geographical awareness of the local area and the ability to coordinate multi-vehicle logistics simultaneously.
Contract Details
- This position supports a federal nonpersonal services contract with the VA.
- The anticipated contract term includes one base year with up to two optional renewal years, subject to funding, performance, and government needs.
- As part of the federal approval process, the VA may review resumes and may request interviews.
- Final placement and start date are contingent upon VA approval.
- While Kaleidoscope Supply Services manages the staffing process, the employer of record will be the client company supporting the VA contract.
Compensation
- Hourly pay: you are paid only for hours worked.
- No paid holidays (holiday pay is not reimbursed by the government for this role).
- No paid time off (PTO) is included.
- Overtime is not permitted unless pre-approved by both the client and the VA.
This compensation structure is standard for federal nonpersonal services contract positions.

- Medical, dental, and vision insurance are not included
- Retirement plans are not included
- No employer sponsored benefits are offered for this position
Employment Requirements
