About the Opportunity
EDU-AIDs is partnering with a school district in Ronkonkoma, NY to hire a full-time Physical Therapist. We are looking for a compassionate professional who is committed to helping students improve their physical abilities and maximize independence within the educational setting. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with school staff to provide therapy services that support students' academic success and overall development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate students to determine physical therapy needs and functional limitations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and educational goals.
- Deliver physical therapy services that enhance strength, balance, coordination, posture, mobility, and motor development.
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and the Child Study Team to support student progress.
- Maintain timely documentation, treatment records, and progress reports in accordance with school and state requirements.
- Attend IEP meetings when requested and provide recommendations regarding therapy goals and accommodations.
- Review student outcomes regularly and adjust intervention plans as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Physical Therapist license.
- School-based or pediatric physical therapy experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
Compensation: $41.00 - $47.00 per hour
