Lead Appliance Installation Technician
Manweiler Appliance is seeking an experienced Lead Appliance Installation Technician to manage a two-person delivery and installation crew. This position is responsible for safely delivering, installing, testing, and removing major household appliances while ensuring each job is completed correctly, efficiently, and professionally.

The Lead Installation Technician will direct the daily work of the installation assistant, communicate with customers, identify and resolve installation issues, and take responsibility for the crew, delivery vehicle, equipment, and completion of each scheduled job.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pay: Starting at $21.00 per hour, depending on experience
Pay Schedule: Biweekly
Performance Review: After 90 days

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a two-person appliance delivery and installation crew.
  • Take responsibility for the safe, accurate, and efficient completion of each scheduled delivery and installation.
  • Review daily delivery schedules, customer information, appliance models, and installation requirements before leaving the store.
  • Safely load and unload appliances by hand or with the use of dollies, straps, appliance carts, and other equipment.
  • Perform professional installation of major appliances, including washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, ranges, ventilation hoods, air conditioners, and similar products.
  • Ensure all plumbing, electrical, venting, mounting, leveling, and connection procedures are completed correctly and in accordance with company standards.
  • Inspect installation areas and identify conditions that may prevent a safe or proper installation.
  • Communicate installation concerns, additional work requirements, product damage, or site issues to customers and company management.
  • Direct and assist the installation technician helper with appliance removal, installation, testing, adjustment, and cleanup.
  • Test appliances after installation to confirm they are operating properly.
  • Explain basic appliance operation and care instructions to customers.
  • Protect customers’ homes and property throughout the delivery and installation process.
  • Confirm that all required installation paperwork, customer approvals, photos, and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, builders, property managers, coworkers, and company leadership.
  • Maintain the delivery truck, tools, installation equipment, and supplies in clean, organized, and safe working condition.
  • Report vehicle, equipment, product, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Assist with warehouse and showroom responsibilities when not completing deliveries.
  • Perform additional delivery, installation, warehouse, or service-related duties as assigned.
Store and Warehouse Responsibilities

When not completing customer installations, responsibilities may include:

  • Loading and unloading appliance shipments
  • Inspecting appliances for damage
  • Pulling and preparing customer orders
  • Stocking and arranging appliances on the showroom floor
  • Organizing warehouse inventory
  • Breaking down boxes and packaging materials
  • Loading scrap appliances and materials
  • Maintaining a clean and organized showroom, warehouse, work area, and delivery vehicle
Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience delivering and installing major household appliances is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and take responsibility for a two-person installation crew.
  • Strong working knowledge of appliance installation procedures.
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mounting, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to identify unsafe or improper installation conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate instructions and job information in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliveries and installations while maintaining schedule expectations.
  • Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to completing installations correctly.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for the crew’s performance, workmanship, safety, and customer experience.
  • Ability to work independently while following company policies and procedures.
Physical and Work Requirements

  • Local daily travel is required.
  • Work is primarily performed inside customers’ homes, construction sites, apartments, and other residential or commercial properties.
  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, pull, maneuver, and position large household appliances with the assistance of another crew member and appropriate equipment.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and remain physically active throughout the workday.
  • Must be comfortable working around basic plumbing, electrical connections, cabinetry, flooring, and finished surfaces.
  • Must be able to work professionally and carefully inside customers’ homes.
