We are seeking a dependable and skilled Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing routine maintenance, repairs, and unit turnovers while providing excellent customer service to residents. This position requires a hands-on individual who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a safe, clean, and well-maintained property.
Schedule
- Part-time (10–20 hours per week, flexible schedule)
- Occasional on-call or emergency maintenance may be required
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work in occupied and vacant apartment homes.
- Complete work orders promptly and professionally.
- Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, doors, windows, locks, drywall, flooring, and other building components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and common areas.
- Inspect the property regularly to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain the grounds, parking areas, and common spaces as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory.
- Communicate effectively with residents, management, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs efficiently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- HVAC certification, EPA Certification, or other maintenance certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
