The engineer collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to perform system analyses, develop migration and cutover plans, minimize system downtime, and modernize legacy IT configurations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Database Migration
• Lead the planning, design, and execution of complex database migrations from on-premises Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Configure, manage, and secure AWS infrastructure and networking architectures, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, VPNs, and Direct Connect.
• Deploy and manage core cloud-native services (such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and Lambda) utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Support hybrid cloud-to-on-premises connectivity and lead legacy system modernization initiatives.

Data Pipeline & Ingestion Engineering
• Design and implement batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines, supporting full loads, Change Data Capture (CDC), and streaming architectures.
• Build, optimize, and validate robust ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies within cloud migration lifecycles.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, data synchronization, and operational tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Strategy, Monitoring, & Governance
• Develop comprehensive data migration and cutover runbooks, including technical rollback strategies designed to minimize production downtime.
• Design and configure cloud-native logging, auditing, and observability frameworks using AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
• Perform detailed requirements gathering, analyze operational procedures, identify system limitations, and perform cost/benefit analyses of alternative solutions.
• Document and maintain technical designs, system diagrams, and data-flow specifications.
