About the Role:
UNDERWAY FIBERAXIS LLC is looking for a motivated Directional Drilling Laborer to join our growing team in Arcanum, OH. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll play a vital part in underground infrastructure projects that connect communities. Responsibilities:
- Assist with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations on underground utility and fiber installation projects
- Support drill operators with equipment setup, breakdown, and daily maintenance
- Handle and prepare drilling materials, including drill pipe, boring tools, and conduit
- Operate hand tools and light equipment to support excavation and site preparation
- Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with safety regulations and protocols
- Assist with locating and marking underground utilities prior to drilling
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow
Requirements:
- Prior experience in directional drilling, underground utilities, or construction is a plus
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with a reliable means of transportation
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and OSHA standards on job sites
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
