Position Overview
The Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (AZDVS) is seeking a Web Content Manager to lead web accessibility, content governance, and digital content strategy across agency websites. This role is focused on ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, ADA, and Section 508 accessibility standards while managing web content, digital assets, and Drupal CMS administration. The ideal candidate will have strong Drupal experience and a passion for creating accessible digital experiences for Arizona veterans.

Required Skills
  •  Hands-on Drupal CMS experience 
  •  Strong knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
  •  Experience implementing WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA accessibility standards 
  •  Experience conducting accessibility audits using automated and manual testing tools 
  •  Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Responsive Web Design, and semantic HTML 
  •  Experience with accessibility testing tools, screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), and assistive technologies 
  •  Experience managing web content, digital assets, and content governance 
  •  Strong content editing, copywriting, and documentation skills 
  •  Experience with multimedia accessibility, captions, transcripts, and accessible PDFs 
Preferred Skills
  •  Bachelor's degree in Web Development or a related field 
  •  Experience with Acquia
  •  Knowledge of Adobe Analytics
  •  Experience with Tenable Nessus
  •  UI/UX and usability testing experience 
Key Responsibilities
  •  Serve as the agency's subject matter expert for WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, and Section 508 compliance. 
  •  Conduct accessibility audits using automated tools and manual keyboard/screen-reader testing. 
  •  Remediate accessibility issues across websites, PDFs, multimedia, and digital assets. 
  •  Convert legacy PDFs into accessible HTML or tagged PDFs. 
  •  Ensure videos include captions, transcripts, and accessible media components. 
  •  Develop and maintain veteran-focused, plain-language web content. 
  •  Manage Drupal CMS content, navigation, taxonomy, and responsive web design. 
  •  Collaborate with internal AZDVS divisions to maintain accurate and accessible digital content. 
  •  Deliver accessibility training and best practices to agency content contributors. 
  •  Develop documentation, standards, and checklists to ensure ongoing accessibility compliance.
