 The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physicians and nursing staff by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the office.The ideal candidate is a team-oriented professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
·         Greet patients and prepare them for their office visit by verifying demographic information and the reason for the appointment.
·         Escort patients to examination rooms while maintaining efficient patient flow.
·         Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
·         Prepare examination and procedure rooms according to physician and patient needs while maintaining appropriate infection control standards.
·         Assist physicians and clinical staff during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
·         Perform clinical procedures and diagnostic testing as directed by the physician and within the scope of practice.
·         Prepare laboratory specimens and ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation.
·         Administer injections, immunotherapy, vaccinations, and other medications as directed by the physician and permitted by applicable regulations.
·         Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, follow-up instructions, and diagnostic testing under physician supervision.
·         Communicate laboratory and diagnostic results to patients as directed by the provider.
·         Answer, document, and appropriately triage patient telephone calls and electronic messages.
·         Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, diagnostic testing, and procedures as needed.
·         Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the EMR.
·         Clean, disinfect, and restock examination rooms and clinical equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
·         Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control standards, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational policies.
·         Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and organizational information.
·         Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications
·         High school diploma or equivalent required.
·         Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
·         Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred.
·         Minimum of one (1) year of recent Medical Assistant experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
·         Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
·         Current BLS certification preferred.
·         Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and clinical information.
·         Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and patient care procedures.
·         Previous experience in an ENT, Allergy, Immunology, or other physician specialty practice preferred but not required.

Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
