Lily Pad Pediatrics LLC is looking for a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our pediatric practice in Opelousas, LA. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients and families with a warm, professional demeanor
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at the time of service
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and demographic information
- Ensure the front desk and waiting area remain organized and welcoming
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; medical office training or certification preferred
- Prior experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare front desk role REQUIRED
- Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR/EHR systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy pediatric office environment
- Proficient in basic computer skills including scheduling and data entry
- HIPAA knowledge and commitment to patient confidentiality
