Our Little Cubs are on the move, and we're looking for an energetic, warm, and engaging Assistant Teacher to join our Toddler 1 classroom!
This is a classroom filled with movement, music, emerging words, growing independence, big feelings, and plenty of discovery. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys this age; someone who gets down on the floor, sings the songs, celebrates the tiny victories, and brings positive energy into the room each day.
You'll work alongside an experienced lead teacher to create a nurturing, structured environment where our youngest learners can explore, build confidence, and develop the skills that come with becoming busy little toddlers.
What You'll Do
- Be actively engaged with children throughout the day, not watching from the sidelines
- Support learning through play, music, movement, books, conversation, and hands-on exploration
- Help children navigate routines, transitions, meals, diapering, rest time, and early independence
- Support positive social-emotional development and age-appropriate behavior guidance
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and inviting classroom
- Work as a true teaching partner with the Lead Teacher
- Build warm, professional relationships with children and families
What We're Looking For
Required
- Previous experience working with infants and/or toddlers in a childcare or early learning setting
- Florida DCF 40-hour training completed
- Current required childcare certifications
- Dependability, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills
- The energy and physical ability to keep up with an active toddler classroom

Gainesville for All was created in 2016 with the help of the Gainesville Sun and the Community Foundation of North Central Florida to seek systemic solutions to problems of race and poverty in the region.
It has had successes in each of its areas of focus, which include education, criminal justice, health and transportation and family support. In the spring of 2021 it played a significant role in winning approval by the city and county of its 2017 recommendation for free RTS fares for riders under age 18 and over age 65.
