About the Role:
Stony Point Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry is looking for a compassionate and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our growing practice in Richmond, VA! This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fun, kid-friendly environment where you'll make a real difference in young patients' lives every single day.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside during pediatric dental procedures and examinations
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms between patients
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed
- Help create a calm, positive, and welcoming experience for young patients and their parents
- Record patient medical histories and treatment notes in dental software
- Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
- Manage dental supply inventory and assist with front office coordination as needed
Requirements:
- Prior dental assisting experience preferred; pediatric experience is a plus
- Radiography (X-ray) certification required or ability to obtain promptly
- CPR/BLS certification required or willingness to obtain
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with children of all ages
- Strong communication skills with both patients and parents
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
