Responsibilities
- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, trouble-shooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery
- Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately.
- Complete regular inspection of equipment to help identify mechanical/electrical issues or concerns and disassemble, repair, replace bearings, seals, gears, etc. as needed
- Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines
- Analyze, trouble-shoot, and repair mechanical problems of plant machinery using precision maintenance techniques
- Follow up with work orders to ensure the problem is repaired properly
- Perform maintenance function and troubleshoot to correct inefficiencies and prevent equipment downtime by completing regular PM’s
- Work within specifications and drawings, responsible for ensuring completion, minimizing waste within set dates and times
- Ensure the maintenance and preventive maintenance of converting plant process equipment to achieve results; ensure all equipment is running properly and meets operational requirement
- Work with maintenance crew to carry out maintenance and repair projects in mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, welding functions
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including Management, employees, and vendors
- Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Systems, computers in an industrial environment including hardware, software configuration and troubleshooting, network configuration and troubleshooting

POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, trouble-shooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
• Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned
• Level and parallel rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.

OUR COMPANY
American Converting was founded in 2003 by Tom Eubanks and Ted Varberg. Together they have brought over 50 years’ experience in the paper industry to create custom converting company built on the principles of providing quality products at competitive pricing and exceptional service and delivery.
In July 2005, the company moved to its current location in Lincolnton, NC making it the first paper converter in Lincoln County. The facility has over 90,000 sq. ft. of converting, office and warehousing space under one roof. This allows the company to provide products with short lead times while maintaining a low overhead without the added cost of off-site storage for their paper and board products.
We are located just a few short miles from Charlotte, North Carolina in the Town of Lincolnton, with a population just over 10,000, Lincolnton is a wonderful small town that with its close proximity to North Carolina’s largest city is one of the area’s great commuter towns for the Charlotte metro area.
