About the Role:
Cargo Express Freight Transportation is looking for a driven and detail-oriented HR & Safety Compliance Manager to join our team in Dallas, TX. This is a key leadership role where you'll shape our people operations and ensure a safe, compliant workplace across our freight and transportation network. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management
- Develop, implement, and enforce DOT and OSHA safety compliance programs and policies
- Manage driver qualification files, CSA scores, and DOT recordkeeping requirements
- Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to reduce workplace injuries
- Lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and compliance education for drivers and staff
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and transportation regulations
- Partner with operations leadership to align HR and safety strategies with business goals
- Administer workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs
Requirements:
- 3+ years of HR and/or safety compliance experience in transportation, logistics, or freight
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and OSHA standards
- Experience managing driver qualification files and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR reporting tools
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM certification preferred; safety certifications (ASP, CSP) a plus
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
