The Opportunity

Are you competitive, motivated, and comfortable talking to people?

We're looking for a driven and energetic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our local State Farm agent's office.

This is a great opportunity for a college student, intern, or anyone looking to build real-world sales experience in a flexible, performance-driven environment.

We'll provide the leads, training, scripts, and systems. Your job is to move fast, make contact, start conversations, and create opportunities for our sales team.

You won't be responsible for closing the insurance sale. Your primary objective is simple: connect with prospective customers and transfer interested, qualified prospects to our sales team.

What You'll Do

As an SDR, you'll be on the front end of our sales process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Making high-volume outbound calls to leads provided by our office
  • Working toward a goal of approximately 60–70 outbound calls per hour
  • Starting friendly, professional conversations with prospective customers
  • Identifying prospects who are interested and available to speak with our sales team
  • Warm-transferring qualifying prospects directly to a sales team member
  • Following our scripts, systems, and lead follow-up process
  • Accurately tracking calls, contacts, and transfers
  • Working toward individual activity and performance goals
No cold prospecting or finding your own leads—we provide the leads for you.

Who We're Looking For

We're more interested in your drive than your résumé.

You don't need previous insurance experience. You don't even need previous sales experience.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Competitive – You like having a number to beat.
  • Driven – You don't need someone constantly pushing you.
  • Resilient – Rejection and unanswered calls don't slow you down.
  • Fast-paced – You enjoy staying busy and moving quickly.
  • Personable – You can make people comfortable and communicate naturally.
  • Coachable – You're willing to learn, follow a process, and improve.
  • Dependable – When you're scheduled to work, you're ready to perform.
  • Goal-oriented – You like seeing measurable results from your effort.
If you're ambitious and willing to work, we'll teach you the rest.

Compensation

We believe strong performance should be rewarded.

This position combines a guaranteed hourly wage with uncapped performance incentives.

Base Pay: $15.16/hour

Performance Incentive: $12 for each qualifying successful lead transfer

The better you perform, the more you can earn.

Example Earnings

0 qualifying transfers/hour: $15.16/hour

1 qualifying transfer/hour: $27.16/hour

2 qualifying transfers/hour: $39.16/hour

3 qualifying transfers/hour: $51.16/hour

There is no predetermined cap on qualifying transfer incentives. Actual earnings will vary based on individual performance.

A qualifying successful transfer occurs when you connect an eligible prospective customer with an available member of our sales team in accordance with our lead-transfer procedures.

Schedule

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Part-time position
  • In-person at our Lakewood, Colorado office
  • Scheduling flexibility may be available around college classes and other commitments
  • Specific working hours will be discussed during the interview process

What You'll Gain

This isn't just a part-time job. It's an opportunity to build real, measurable sales experience that you can take with you into your next internship, job, or career.

You'll gain hands-on experience in:

  • Sales development and outbound prospecting
  • Lead qualification and pipeline management
  • Professional phone communication
  • Building rapport and navigating objections
  • Working within a structured sales process
  • CRM and lead-management systems
  • Goal setting and performance tracking
  • Insurance and financial services
Because your activity and results are tracked, you'll have the opportunity to build quantifiable accomplishments for your résumé—including outbound activity, prospects contacted, qualified opportunities generated, transfer rates, and other performance metrics.

Instead of simply saying you "worked in sales," you'll be able to show future employers what you accomplished.

Potential Career Path

For high-performing team members who are interested in continuing in the insurance industry, this role may also provide a pathway toward becoming a licensed insurance professional and pursuing additional sales opportunities within our agency.

No insurance experience or license is required to start. We'll teach you the SDR role first and give you an opportunity to demonstrate what you can do.

For students interested in sales, business, marketing, finance, communications, entrepreneurship, insurance, or financial services, this is an opportunity to start building meaningful professional experience while you're still in school.
Compensation: $15.16 - $51.16 per hour
