Executive US Broker – Customs Brokerage
At Laredo BSL Inc. we are looking for a US Executive Broker with experience in foreign trade operations, customs clearance in the United States and logistics coordination of import and export shipments.
We are looking for an organized, proactive and customer service-oriented person capable of coordinating and following up on customs and transportation operations, ensuring that documentation is complete and correct, that shipments comply with applicable regulatory requirements and that operations are processed efficiently from inception to release and closing.
This position requires maintaining constant communication with customers, carriers, customs personnel and operational teams, as well as timely identifying possible delays or incidents that may affect the clearance or movement of goods.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor import and export operations.
- Prepare and send pre-file entries for export shipments.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and other customs documentation.
- Carry out and follow up on in-bond and T&E procedures before U.S. Customs.
- Monitor crossings, releases, inspections, holds, and shipment status.
- Follow up on FDA and USDA regulated operations.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain or correct documentation.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date physical and electronic records.
- Provide follow-up and service to internal and external customers.
- Channel concluded operations to the invoicing process in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Experience in US Customs Brokerage, foreign trade, imports or exports.
- Professional English and Spanish, preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processes and regulations.
- Experience with Customs Entry, Cargo Release, In-Bonds, and T&E.
- Knowledge or experience in FDA and USDA.
- Ability to interpret trade and customs documentation.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and customer service.
- Ability to handle multiple operations simultaneously.
- Microsoft Office and Outlook management.
