The Learning Experience is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) Teacher to create an engaging, nurturing, and academically enriching classroom where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
As a UPK Teacher, you'll play a meaningful role in preparing children for kindergarten and building the foundation for lifelong learning. With the support of TLE's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, classroom resources, and a collaborative center team, you'll inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in every child.

What You'll Do
- Lead a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate UPK classroom that prepares children for kindergarten
- Plan, prepare, and implement meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that support school readiness
- Bring TLE's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® to life through engaging lessons, activities, and play-based learning
- Support children's social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development
- Adapt instruction and classroom experiences to meet the diverse developmental needs of individual learners
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, and supported
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress while using that information to guide instruction
- Communicate regularly with families about children's learning, development, and milestones
- Maintain classroom routines, organized learning materials, and required educational documentation
- Collaborate with fellow educators, center leadership, and UPK partners to support student success and family engagement
- Model positive guidance, communication, and classroom management practices
- Follow all applicable New York State childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
What We're Looking For
- Must meet applicable New York State and UPK program requirements for a UPK Teacher
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional education and credentials must meet applicable UPK and NYS requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Early Childhood Education coursework and/or a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as required for the position
- Previous experience in a childcare or early childhood education setting, with demonstrated classroom leadership experience
- Knowledge of preschool development, kindergarten readiness, and age-appropriate instructional practices
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to plan engaging lessons and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs
- Passion for helping children build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Must meet applicable background screening, health, immunization, and training requirements

This position requires active supervision of young children by sight and sound and the ability to participate in classroom and outdoor activities, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, climbing, and safely lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds. Employees may work outdoors during portions of the day in varying weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from 20°F with wind chill to 95°F.
