Drum Set Instructor, Part-Time | $17–$22 per hour

Bach to Rock Herndon is looking for a drummer who loves teaching. Our drum students are waiting, and we'd love to meet you.

About us

Bach to Rock (B2R) Herndon is a performance-based music school where students of all ages learn the music they love: private lessons, real bands, a recording studio, camps, and big-stage events like Battle of the Bands. Our instructors are trained musicians and working performers.

What you'll do

  • Teach private drum-set lessons to kids, teens, and adults using the B2R curriculum, built around the songs students want to play
  • Build solid fundamentals (time, technique, reading, groove) in a fun, encouraging way
  • Track progress, assign practice, and keep parents in the loop
  • Help students get ready for bands and performances
  • Optional: coach student bands

What you bring

  • Strong drum-set technique and the ability to read drum notation
  • Patience, warmth, reliability, and the ability to explain things simply
  • Performance experience; teaching experience (especially with kids) is a big plus
  • Availability for at least 2 weekday afternoon/evening (3–9 pm) or Saturday shifts per week
  • 18 or older

Pay

$17–$22 per hour, based on teaching experience, instruments taught, and your audition and demo lesson. Paid for all hours worked, including training, meetings, and events.

U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Information (Completion is voluntary)

Bach to Rock Herndon is an equal opportunity employer. We invite you to voluntarily self-identify to help us track the effectiveness of our outreach. Your responses are confidential, stored separately from your application, and will not be seen by hiring managers during evaluation. You may decline to answer any question.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.
