We’re seeking business minded Investment Advisor Representatives (IARs) who want to build meaningful, long-term client relationships while delivering sophisticated, holistic financial guidance. What You’ll Do

As an Eagle Strategies IAR, you’ll help clients make informed financial decisions across every aspect of their financial lives.

Your planning process centers around seven core planning pillars:

You’ll work closely with clients to:

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to each client’s goals and values.
  • Create coordinated strategies that integrate investments, taxes, insurance, retirement, and estate considerations.
  • Guide clients through life’s major financial decisions with proactive advice and ongoing planning.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships based on trust, education, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with specialists to provide sophisticated planning solutions when appropriate.
    Stay current on market trends, tax law changes, and financial planning strategies to continually deliver exceptional advice.

Meet Our Leadership Team:

Christopher J. Viveiros, CLU® – Managing Partner: Chris began his career with New York Life in 2000 in the Boston General Office. After quickly earning Executive Council* Recognized as an agent, he joined management as a Partner, became Senior Partner in 2007, and has served as Managing Partner of the Chicago North Shore General Office since 2018, building a premier team of high-performing financial professionals. Following the death of his younger brother, Chris took time to reflect on his purpose. That experience inspired him to lead with greater intention, focusing on mentoring agents and helping them grow their careers while providing lasting financial security for families and communities. Education & Credentials: CLU®, B.S. Business Management (Finance & Psychology), Roger Williams University; FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 66 licensed.

Erica Berning, LUTCF, CLF, CLU® – Senior Partner: Erica joined New York Life in 2006 and quickly achieved Executive Council*. By 2009, at age 24, she was promoted to Partner in the Downtown Sales Office of New York Life – Chicago. She is the most tenured Partner in the office and is passionate about mentoring agents to build meaningful careers and achieve a high quality of life.
Personal: Erica and her husband, Matt, live in Elmhurst with their daughter Harper and sons Matthias Jr. and Gunnar.

Celeste Garrett, Partner: Celeste joined New York Life in 2011, quickly achieving Executive Council* recognition twice and earning awards including Life Case Rate Leader and Annuity Champion Elite. She was promoted to Partner in 2014 and is dedicated to mentoring financial professionals while helping clients achieve lasting financial security.
Personal: Celeste and her husband, Bennie, live in Hyde Park with their two children. They are avid soccer fans and share their home with three cats and two dogs.

Qualifications


We’re looking for IARs who are passionate about helping clients improve their financial lives.

Required qualifications include:

  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 & 65), 
  • Life & Health Insurance Licenses
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational skills
Compensation

All IARs affiliated with Eagle Strategies must also be contracted as agents with New York Life. Agents who are also IARs may earn income from both commission-based products and fees generated through managed accounts and financial planning services.

Agents operating under an Introductory (PTAS) Contract who fail to sell enough to trigger a full-time agent contract will be paid first year commissions on any sales made in a lump sum at the end of their PTAS Contract period. If you qualify for an Introductory (PTAS) Contract, you will preview an agent career with New York Life as an independent contractor while continuing to work at your current job, with limited exceptions. During this preview period of up to six months, any sales you make will continue to accrue until you either make enough sales to become a full-time agent under a Training Allowance Subsidy (TAS) Contract or the passage of six months, whichever is earlier. If you do not become a full-time agent, first year commissions on any sales you made will be paid to you at the end of six months. If you become a full-time agent under a TAS Contract, you will be credited with the commissions you accrued under the Introductory Contract.
