About the Internship
Build your portfolio, grow your network, and help a local business grow. Mike Bashore Agency is seeking a creative, outgoing college student for a hands-on marketing and business development internship.
You won't just watch from the sidelines. You'll create content, build relationships, bring ideas, and take ownership of projects while working closely with agency leadership.
What You'll Do
- Create social media content, including short-form video for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, that reflects our team and local brand.
- Capture photos and video at agency, networking, and community events.
- Visit real estate offices, apartment communities, auto dealerships, and other local businesses to build relationships and deliver marketing materials.
- Follow up with business partners and identify speaking and networking opportunities.
- Coordinate customer life-event marketing for new homes, marriages, children, career changes, and retirement.
- Support local events, sponsorships, and community marketing.
- Use AI tools for content creation, communication, ideas, and productivity. Bring fresh marketing and business-development ideas to the team.
Who We're Looking For
An entrepreneurial student interested in marketing, sales, business development, or small-business leadership. Business-school students are preferred, but students from other programs with relevant skills and interests are welcome.
Strong candidates are:
- Creative, outgoing, and comfortable meeting people, appearing on camera, and representing a professional business.
- Familiar with Canva and CapCut, current on Instagram, TikTok, and short-form content trends, and able to take strong photos and video.
- Highly comfortable using AI and digital tools.
- Self-directed, dependable, organized, coachable, and ready to contribute ideas.
What You'll Gain
Hands-on experience in social media strategy, video and digital content creation, local business development, sales and relationship building, event marketing, customer retention, and AI-assisted marketing.
Working with agency leadership, you'll learn how marketing, sales, customer experience, and business strategy connect in a growing small business.
Schedule & Internship Structure
Approximately 10 hours per week, flexible around classes, combining in-office projects, remote work, local outreach, and events. Occasional evening or weekend event availability may be needed.
A minimum one-semester commitment is expected. The internship can continue across multiple semesters, with potential longer-term or career opportunities for exceptional interns.
Academic credit is available. A project-based stipend may also be available depending on the internship structure. Approved mileage for community outreach and events will be reimbursed.
Requirements
Currently enrolled college student with a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a smartphone capable of quality photos/video, and a personal laptop. Must be able to occasionally transport light marketing or event materials.

Compensation: $500.00 - $500.00 per month
