Manna Support Services is a Connecticut home care agency. We help people live safely and independently in their own communities, at home, at work, and out in their day-to-day lives.
About the role
We're looking for a caregiver to help one of our clients in Greenwich build independence out in their community. Each weekday, you'll plan and go on outings together: the gym, the rec center, shopping, coffee, a movie. The goal is for the client to learn their way around and feel confident doing these things on their own.
This is a great fit for someone who knows Greenwich well, enjoys being active and out and about, and likes coaching someone toward independence rather than doing things for them.
What you'll do
- Plan and go on community outings with the client, like the gym, rec center, shopping, coffee, and movies
- Suggest new activities and places that build the client's independence
- Help the client learn to navigate their community and get comfortable in it
- Drive the client to and from outings
- Encourage the client to take the lead, stepping in only when they need support
- Communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the Manna team
What we're looking for
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance. Transportation is required for this role
- Familiar with Greenwich and the surrounding area
- Available every weekday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- Active, outgoing, and enjoys being out in the community
- Patient and encouraging. You help someone do it, not do it for them
- Able to pass a Connecticut background check
