We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our construction accounting team. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, job cost tracking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing.
Construction accounting experience is preferred but not required. This is an in-person position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and verify proper job number and cost code assignments.
- Track construction project costs and expenses.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare customer invoices and progress billings.
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing.
- Review job costs and assist with budget-to-actual reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with Project Managers regarding job costs, invoices, and billing questions.
- Assist with other accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Construction or job cost accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate is dependable, organized, accurate, and willing to learn. They can work independently while supporting the Accounting team and Project Managers.
Compensation: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
