About the Role:
WBM INC is looking for a skilled Fanuc Set-Up Technician to join our team in Wheeling, IL! This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist to take ownership of CNC setup operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment where your expertise truly makes an impact.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC machines for production runs
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and program edits on Fanuc CNC controls
- Conduct first-article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency
- Collaborate with operators and engineering staff to optimize machining processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with shop standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience setting up and operating Fanuc CNC machines
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
- Hands-on experience with tooling, fixturing, and work-holding setups
- Ability to perform program edits and offsets on Fanuc controls
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
