Experienced Automotive Technician — Diagnostic / A/C Specialist

ICE COLD AIR DISCOUNT AUTO REPAIR — Clearwater, FL

We’re hiring an experienced B+ / A-Level Automotive Technician with strong diagnostic skills who can work independently and complete quality repairs efficiently. We’re an established, full-service shop specializing in automotive repair, diagnostics and A/C service.

Pay: $45–$60+ Per Flagged Hour

Flat Rate | Performance-Based

  • Starting rate of $45 per flagged labor hour.

  • Opportunities to advance to $50, $55 and $60+ based on demonstrated skill, productivity, diagnostic ability and quality.

  • Minimum hourly guarantee when the shop does not have sufficient production.

This is a true flat-rate position for a technician who wants earning potential tied to performance.


What We’re Looking For


You can diagnose the problem, identify the correct repair and complete the job with minimal supervision. Your strengths should include:

  • Electrical diagnostics, wiring diagrams and electrical testing.

  • Check-engine-light, drivability and engine-performance diagnosis.

  • Professional scan tools, live data and multimeters.

  • Automotive A/C diagnosis, including electrical and control systems.

  • Engine mechanical repair, cooling, starting and charging systems.

  • Brakes, steering, suspension and general domestic and import repair.

A/C Experience Is a Major Plus

A/C is an important part of our business. We value technicians who can diagnose the underlying problem—not simply evacuate and recharge the system.

Preferred experience includes refrigerant and leak diagnosis, compressors and clutches, evaporators and condensers, HVAC controls, pressure and temperature testing, and variable-displacement or electronically controlled systems.

  • Be comfortable working in a flat-rate environment.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.

  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong A/C experience preferred.

  • Experience using professional scan tools.

  • Own quality hand tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • ASE and EPA 609 certifications are a plus.
