Yard Worker – Lumber Yard
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused individual to join our lumber yard team!
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys staying active, working alongside others, helping customers, and learning new skills. We value employees who treat others with kindness and respect, take pride in their work, and believe in providing the same great service they would expect to receive.
Position Overview
As a Yard Worker, you will play an important role in keeping daily yard operations running smoothly. Your duties will include handling, organizing, loading, and unloading building materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing assistance to customers and delivery drivers. This is a hands-on position that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to customers.
- Accurately select, prepare, and load building materials into customer vehicles.
- Safely operate a forklift to unload incoming deliveries and load customer and company delivery trucks.
- Receive, organize, and stock inventory in designated areas.
- Handle a variety of products, including lumber, roofing supplies, concrete products, pipe, railroad ties, fencing, gates, and other building materials.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
- Work cooperatively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently when needed.
- Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A strong awareness of workplace safety.
- Willingness to follow instructions and work well with others.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
