PIRTEK Hydraulic Hose Technician

PIRTEK is who they call, and we promise to be there in about an hour, 24/7/365. As the nation's leading provider of on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement, we don't make customers haul equipment to a shop. We roll up in a workshop on wheels and fix it on the spot.

We're hiring a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to be the hero in that story. No hose experience? Good news: we'll teach you. What we can't teach is grit, and that's what we're looking for.

This isn't a punch-the-clock job with a fixed ceiling. Every service call is a chance to build relationships, and every relationship is a chance to earn more. Our Technicians earn a competitive base plus real bonus potential:

Competitive base pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
Sales & performance bonuses: earn more when you grow your customer base and hit service targets, up to 4% per month of your total sales
On-call pay: get paid for being ready when the emergency calls come in
Customer growth rewards: turn a one-time repair into a repeat account and share in the upside

What you'll actually do

Your office is a purpose-built mobile service unit: a workshop van loaded with every tool and machine you need. Your territory is your turf. One day it's a construction site, the next it's a marine yard or a manufacturing plant. Expect noise, weather, and plenty of oil and grease.

On any given day, you'll:

Roll out on service calls and sales visits across your local territory
Diagnose failing hoses and assemblies, then remove, fabricate, and install the replacement on-site
Clean up and contain any oil spills to the customer's satisfaction and to federal, state, and local regulations
Log service details in our online system so invoices are accurate
Build relationships with new customers and keep existing ones coming back
Follow up to make sure every customer is satisfied, and solve issues before you leave
Keep your van, tools, and equipment in top shape
Take your turn in the rotating on-call schedule (yes, it pays)
Follow every PIRTEK and industry safety standard, every time
Pitch in on other related duties as needed

Is this you?

You might be a great fit if you're the person friends call when something breaks. You'd rather get your hands dirty than sit at a desk. You like figuring things out on your own, and you can talk to a customer as easily as you can work a wrench.

Our best Technicians are natural problem solvers, mechanically inclined, and stubborn in the best way. They don't quit on a tough job.

What you'll need:

High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely drive a large work van
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
Comfort with hand tools and specialized equipment
Your own hand tools and comfort with working on specialized equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to sit, stand, kneel, bend, or stoop for long stretches
Ability to safely use ladders, step-ups, and stairs
Confidence handling customer questions and objections to close a sale
A positive attitude on hard days, whether working solo or with the team

Nice to have: experience in construction, industrial work, or automotive, marine, or field mechanics.
