- Direct, develop, coordinate, supervise, and manage the Personal Training Department.
- Oversee the professional growth of all Personal Trainers and club leadership.
- Administer all policies and procedures related to personal training and small group training.
- Manage scheduling and reporting in line with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure the department's financial performance by achieving monthly revenue and contract value goals.
- Hire, train, and maintain accurate records of all personal training staff.
- Conduct training meetings and educational seminars for the team.
- Oversee the timely delivery of fitness assessments to new members.
- Plan and promote events to enhance the visibility of Personal Training services.
- Design and implement quarterly additional service and educational seminars via Zoom or in person.
- Provide weekly upskilling and informational emails to all Personal Training staff, with ownership and GM copied.
- Participate in weekly or bi-weekly department head meetings to coordinate efforts.
- Maintain proficiency in all facility software programs and ensure staff knowledge.
- Foster positive relationships with training, membership, and gym staff.
- Assist in maintaining gym equipment and organizing floor arrangements.
- Conduct weekly calls or emails to new members to ensure proper onboarding.
- Lead personal training revenue generation through paid-in-full and monthly draft packages.
- Maintain an active referral system with the sales team to recruit new members.
- Follow up on potential prospects and new members daily.
- Drive production consistent with club goals and standards.
- Audit all monies collected and payroll generated from personal training revenue.
- Manage all sales systems to ensure accurate and timely statistics.
- Administer revenue-bearing small group training programs.
- Develop and discuss monthly promotions to stimulate personal training sales.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the personal training staff.
- Implement necessary corrective actions for staff performance.
- Enforce company SOPs for personal training services.
- Ensure staff adherence to uniform and appearance policies.
- Coordinate coverage for peak training hours.
- Manage cancellations and reimbursements for personal training services.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Adapt to new systems as the company expands.
- A degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
- National Personal Training Certification is required.
- Experience as a nationally certified personal trainer in a high-volume fitness environment.
- Completion of a mandatory 90-day probationary period for all new Gold's Gym hires.
- Thorough knowledge of club operations and procedures.
