Under the direct supervision of the center Area Child Development Specialist (ACDS), the Site Supervisor is responsible for providing direction, guidance, support, and evaluates, assigned staff. Prepares and submits supply requisitions and maintains inventory of center supplies. Makes regular class observations for the purpose of strengthening the early childhood education provided to children while assuring developmentally appropriate practices. Monitors, supervises organizes and conducts parent education and parent involvement activities. Assist with supervision of children at all times. Ensure compliance with California Department of Education (CSPP), CA Department of Social Services (CCTR), Title 5, Funding Terms and conditions, Community Care Licensing, as defined Title 22, upholding Title 5; and Local, State, County Fire, Building and Safety mandates.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Site Supervisor will include but not to be limited to the following:
· Recording and reporting daily attendance, CACFP
· Monitoring completion of DRDP’s, action plans, summary of findings for children
· Ensuring compliance with Environmental Rating Scales (ERS)
· Supervision and development management of center staff
· Planning daily schedules of staff and classroom
· Attend Monthly staff development meetings
· Meet with staff to address any center concerns
· Ensure Community Care Licensing (CCL) compliance with children, staff, and facility
· Tracking and monitoring of Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ’s)
· Ensure quality of interaction amongst staff and students by adhering to the CLASS tool
· Report and adhere to any IEP/ IFSP plans of any children enrolled at facilities
· Monitor communication amongst families and staff within Learning Genie App platform.
· Ensure implementation of Frog Street curriculum on daily basis
· Responsible for submitting supply request for facility needs
· Responsible for submitting Potential Areas of Concern for facility maintenance
· Any duties as assigned by supervisor or upper administration
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
● Education: AA/AS Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with at least 24 ECE/CE semesters units including at least one class in each of the areas:
o Child/human growth and development
o Child, family and community, or child and family relations
o Programs/ curriculum
o Six semester units equivalent quarter units administration and supervision of child care and development programs, and two semester units or equivalent quarter units in adult supervision
● Obtain Child Development Site Supervisor Permit
● Two years experience with preschool children in a group care setting (350 days of 3 hours or more within four years must include at least 100 days of supervising adults in a child care development program)
● Experience: Previous teaching experience or experience working with children
● Personal Qualities: Need to be friendly and inviting. Need to adapt easily and enjoy learning. Open to constructive feedback that enhances the organization.
● TB Clearance (every two years)/Physical (once upon hire)
● Fingerprinting Clearance by FBI, DOJ, Child Abuse Index and these criminal records are required for employment
● Vaccines( TDAP every 10 years and MMR)
● Flu Shot annually
● CPR/ First Aid Certification (every two years)
● Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207 every two years)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
● Ability to work in a classroom setting
● Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management
● Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
● Ability to sit for long periods of time
● Ability to bend, lift,and carry
● Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions
● Ability to supervise numerous children at once, while ensuring safety as a priority
● Ability to be prepared for accidents and emergency drills at any time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Compensation: $21.40 per hour

Desert Preschool Academy (DPA) was founded in 2017 with its first site in Indio, California. Desert Preschool Academy is a 501(c) (3), nonprofit that provides little to no cost childcare services to low income families. We serve children ages Infant through 5. DPA provides nutritious meals and snacks under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We currently have 9 child care facilities in Indio, Mecca, La Quinta, Thermal, Beaumont, Coachella and Moreno Valley. We have been in operation for 6 years serving over 300 children.
