Job Summary:
The Private Jr Pre-K Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children in a private Jr Pre-K program in Georgia. This position involves developing and implementing curriculum, assessing student progress, maintaining communication with parents, and ensuring a safe and enriching educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with Georgia Pre-K standards and educational objectives.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and development.

Instruction and Classroom Management:
- Lead daily instructional activities, including circle time, group projects, and individualized learning experiences.
- Manage classroom dynamics and behavior effectively, promoting positive interactions among students.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student progress through ongoing observations and formal assessments, maintaining accurate records of student performance and development.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional practices and individualize learning experiences as needed.

Parent Communication and Engagement:
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates on classroom activities and student achievements.

Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with other educators and staff members to enhance curriculum development, instructional strategies, and overall program effectiveness.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and Georgia Pre-K guidelines.

Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate attendance records, student files, and documentation required by licensing and accreditation standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including emergency procedures and supervision of children.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 experience teaching young children, with at least 2 years in a lead teaching role preferred.

- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for diverse learners.
