OVERVIEW
The Northern Colorado Continuum of Care (NoCO CoC) Domestic Violence (DV) System Response Coordinator is responsible for educating, training and implementing community-wide system improvements to support victims and survivors of domestic violence in Larimer and Weld counties. The NoCO CoC works diligently with 40+ partners to coordinate regional policies, strategies, and activities for quickly rehousing individuals and families, aligning homeless funding objectives and promoting equitable access to housing resources through Housing First best practices.
 
This position works closely with the NoCO CoC Coordinated Assessment Housing Placement System Specialists, regional Victim Service Providers (VSPs) and mainstream service providers to improve understanding of the unique experiences of DV survivors and create an effective response system that addresses the specific needs and vulnerabilities of DV households experiencing literal homelessness or attempting to flee their abusive perpetrator. This position is employed by the NoCO CoC Collaborative Applicant, United Way of Weld County, 814 9th Street, Greeley, Colorado. Since the NoCO CoC covers Larimer and Weld counties, it is an expectation of the DV Coordinator to travel throughout both counties.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Education and Training 
  • Develop a glossary of terms and other informational resources related to the intersections of Domestic Violence (DV) and homelessness to share on the Northern Colorado Continuum of Care (NoCO CoC) website and update on an as-needed basis.
  • Create DV specific presentations to be given in-person, virtually and made available on the Learning Management Site (LMS) focused on basic definitions, situations and evidence-based best practices to support DV households experiencing literal homelessness or attempting to flee.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with NoCO CoC CAHPS access point and non-access point partners to develop tailored trainings based on the partners’ identified needs and gaps in knowledge; this may include basic safety planning, assessing for imminent danger, emergency transfers, etc.
  • Assist with the annual NoCO CoC DV specific training provided to CoC general membership 

Technical Assistance Support 
  • Register for and attend DV specific local, regional, statewide and/or national trainings to stay informed on evidence-based best practices and sources of funding to support DV survivors experiencing literal homelessness and/or attempting to flee.
  • Assist Victims Services Providers (VSP) and mainstream providers, when appropriate, on developing and implementing housing and supportive services type programs that support the needs and vulnerabilities of DV survivors.
  • On behalf of the NoCO CoC, represent the regional perspective on DV survivors at general membership meetings, other community meetings, learning sessions, etc. 
 
Leadership & System Building 
  • Utilize Housing First, culturally competent, trauma informed and collective impact principles to develop DV specific region wide policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with CAHPS partners through regular communication, training and feedback.
  • Through on-going collaboration with mainstream CAHPS access point partners, identify opportunities for system improvements related to the intake, assessment and case conferencing process.
  • In coordination and collaboration with NoCO CoC staff, design and implement resources to assist with system improvements, which may include developing additional online trainings on the LMS, creating system flow charts, revising HMIS intake and assessment processes, etc. 
  • Implement system improvements to increase equity and lower disparity in CAHPS processes and outcomes for DV survivors.
  • In partnership with the HMIS System Administrator and CAHPS Data Systems Specialist, assist with the development of a comparable database for VSP.
  • Contribute to planning, implementation and analysis of the annual CAHPS evaluation as it relates to DV survivors.
  • Interpret and communicate DV survivor data related findings in an accessible and meaningful way to audiences.
 
Other Responsibilities
Attend and participate in monthly VSP CAHPS team check-ins, other regional and statewide committees and working groups focused on supporting DV households to stay informed and inform system improvements.
 
United Way of Weld County General 
  • Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
  • Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
  • Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Willingness to travel within Larimer and Weld.
  • Knowledge concerning domestic violence and impact of trauma.
  • Strong understanding of client confidentiality as it relates to coordinated client services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Computer literacy: demonstrated ability with MS office including Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in related areas (behavioral science, human services, child development, public health).

Ideal candidate has: 
  • Two (2) years’ experience in community organizing, system building.
  • Two (2) years experience working with victims and survivors of domestic violence 
  • Applicants of diverse backgrounds and/or lived experience encouraged.
 POSITION INFORMATION
  • Full-time (40 hours) non-exempt
  • Pay Range H4: $18.03-20.30
  • Reports to: Assistant Director of System Improvement 
  • Eligible for remote work: after 90 days of employment with supervisors’ approval
  • Background check required
