A Restoration Technician is a professional who specializes in providing restoration services to the contents, textiles, electronics or art that have experienced damage from various sources, such as water, fire, mold, or other disasters and effectively completes a pack out and/or pack back of a home or business.
Responsibilities:
Pack Out – Receiving – Production – Restoration - Warehouse – Staging – Delivery
· Travel to the loss Site to properly inventory and sort textiles, electronics, art, and contents by using appropriate technology.
· Follows all procedures and guidelines per training protocols.
· Communicate and follow verbal instructions from the lead CSR.
· Effectively pack out jobs properly while maintaining the integrity of the contents.
· Follow written instructions specific to each job.
· Ensure that the restoration process meets company standards and customer expectations.
· On-Call schedule required for after-hours, weekdays and weekends.
· Remain professional around homeowners, adjusters and contractors.
Receiving –
o Assist warehouse manager unload contents.
o Organize all contents based on cleaning method.
o Identify and separate for immediate needs.
o Use appropriate technology.
Pack out –
o Ensure truck is stocked with materials for the day.
o Perform pack out based on normal flow – textiles, electronics, art, contents.
o Follow all procedures to properly inventory, eval, tag and box.
o Take appropriate photos.
o Keep a clean workstation.
Delivery –
o Assist warehouse manager load deliveries.
o Transport items to loss site.
o Place furniture in original rooms
o Place boxes unopened in original rooms.
o Protect loss site from damage during delivery.
o Use appropriate technology.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience in the restoration or construction industry not required but preferred
- Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Experience with using mobile software to enter data
- Can read and follow product label usage instructions
- Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
- Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
- Certifications are not required but preferred:
- WTR – Water Damage Restoration Technician
- ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
- Move up to 70 pounds often, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching is required.
- Express or exchange ideas with others quickly, receive and act on detailed information given.
- For safety reasons, wear respirators, which are used in certain situations, must be able to seal to your face
- Use visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities
- Be exposed to various inside and outside working conditions: The change of environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
