About
Experienced, Compassionate, High Quality Professional Counseling
Although I have been a therapist for over 20 years, my journey to become a therapist began in 6th grade when I read my first Sigmund Freud book. No worries, my approach has since evolved. I am guided by best practices and practical approaches that are unique and individualized. I appreciate the influence of positive psychology, the use of humor, and gratitude along with ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, EMDR, and other psychological approaches.
When life is challenging, what I have learned from my education, ongoing training, and clinical experience is there are some easy, effective right now changes that can be made to improve mental health, relationships, happiness, and over all well-being. Other transformative change comes from a more intensive, deeper exploration that unfolds over time with a collaborative, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship. I find the most transformative and long-term change comes from a focus on this combined approach of right now strategies and deeper exploration.
I enjoy and have experience in providing support to individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, stress management, and professional burnout. I particularly enjoy and have experience supporting other helping professionals in all of these areas.
