We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. This role involves helping residents with daily living activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting a safe and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and following dietary guidelines.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document accordingly.
  • Support residents in community outings, recreational activities, and social engagement.
  • Encourage independence while ensuring safety and supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces.
  • Document daily activities, progress, and any incidents per agency policies.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare providers, and family members.
  • Follow all state regulations and agency policies to ensure the highest standard of care.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Certification, etc. (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if transporting residents).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
Compensation: $16.00 per hour
