This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about guest service, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and lead by example.
About the Role:
The Service Captain plays a key leadership role on the dining room floor, working closely with the management team and food expeditor to ensure seamless service. This highly visible position requires a polished appearance, strong communication skills, and a deep knowledge of our menu, wine list, and beverage offerings.
While not a managerial role, the Service Captain is a mentor and role model for Servers and Server Assistants, helping to maintain Okto’s exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Setup
- Ensure tables are properly set and banquet areas are spotless
- Confirm silverware and glassware are clean and polished
- Support pre-shift meetings as needed
During Service
- Greet every table and engage with guests throughout their experience
- Oversee and support Servers and Server Assistants in your section
- Provide wine service and serve Skewer Boards as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized dining environment
- Handle guest concerns with professionalism and care
Closing Duties
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and ready for the next shift
- Complete and review POS reports
