The Dental Treatment Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that patients fully understand their treatment options, financial responsibilities, and the steps to move forward with their dental care. This individual serves as a liaison between patients and the dental team, helping to coordinate appointments, explain treatment plans, and facilitate patient satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care Coordination:

• Greet and welcome patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.

• Review and explain dental treatment plans to patients, including procedures, timelines, and costs.

• Provide detailed information about insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.

• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate treatment sequences based on patient needs and availability.

• Financial Coordination:

• Present and explain financial arrangements, including payment plans, financing options, and insurance coverage.

• Process payments and ensure accurate billing information.

• Handle patient questions or concerns about treatment costs, insurance, and payment options.

• Patient Communication & Education:

• Answer patient inquiries over the phone or in person regarding their treatment and financial responsibilities.

• Educate patients on the importance of prescribed treatments and encourage follow-through on care plans.

• Maintain a positive and empathetic approach to ensure a great patient experience.

• Administrative Support:

• Update patient records with treatment plans, payment history, and communication logs.

• Follow up with patients post-treatment to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.

• Ensure the smooth flow of operations by working closely with the dental team.


Qualifications:

• Previous experience in dental treatment coordination, customer service, or dental office administration.

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.

• Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix) is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

• Understanding of dental insurance plans and billing practices.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare management or dental assisting is a plus.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to explain complex information clearly to patients.

• Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.

• Customer service-focused with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and practice management software.
