About Us
Centro Cultural Mexicano is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Latino arts, culture, and community engagement. We offer a wide range of free resources to the community, including rent assistance, financial education workshops, small business support and research. In addition to our cultural programming and community services, we also support high school and college students through our Maker Space, a creative, hands-on environment equipped with tools and materials, available at no cost to students.
Position Summary
The Program Manager will lead the development, coordination, and evaluation of community-focused programs at Centro Cultural Mexicano. This includes overseeing existing programs, expanding offerings based on community needs, and ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization's mission.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the Program Manager will play a key role in all phases of program development, from identifying and pursuing grant opportunities to program implementation, budgeting, evaluation, and reporting. This position requires a strategic thinker who is solutions-oriented, resourceful, and deeply knowledgeable about the challenges and systemic barriers that impact Latino communities. Guided by a shared North Star, the Program Manager and Executive Director will work in close partnership to ensure all programs reflect the organization’s core values and strategic goals.
The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English), highly organized, and experienced in program management, budgeting, reporting, and community outreach. A passion for equity and community-driven impact is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Management
- Design, implement, and oversee community-focused programs that align with the organization’s mission and address identified community needs.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through data collection, feedback, and outcome tracking; adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
- Expand and adapt programming in response to emerging community priorities and opportunities.
Strategic Collaboration
- Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure programs reflect the organization’s shared vision, values, and strategic goals.
- Participate in organizational planning and contribute to long-term strategy development.
Grant Writing & Fund Development
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, identify funding opportunities and contribute to the preparation of grant proposals.
- Assist with developing program budgets for grant applications and ensure alignment between program goals and funding requirements.
- Track and report on grant deliverables, timelines, and outcomes
Budgeting & Reporting
- Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure responsible use of resources.
- Prepare reports for funders, leadership, and stakeholders detailing program performance and financial stewardship.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Support the Executive Director in building and maintaining strong relationships with community members, partners, and local organizations.
- Represent Centro Cultural Mexicano at community events, coalition meetings, collaborative initiatives, public forums and media as needed.
- Promote programs through culturally relevant outreach and communication strategies, including in both Spanish and English.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and support program staff, volunteers, and interns to ensure high-quality delivery of services.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that reflects the values of cultural pride, equity, and respect.
- Promote professional development by mentoring staff, identifying training opportunities, and encouraging continuous learning and growth.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Masters Degree in nonprofit management, education, social work, cultural studies, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in program management, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership.
- Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based programs.
- Proven experience with budgeting, and reporting.
- Grant writing experience will be a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Balance strategic, big-picture thinking with attention to detail to ensure programs are both visionary in scope and effective in execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and community presentations.
- Deep understanding of the challenges, barriers, and strengths within Latino communities.
- Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, including community members, funders, and institutional partners.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools such as Asana.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range $75,000-$80,000 annually
