Innovation & Exploration STEM Early Learning Center is dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in young learners through a hands-on, play-based STEM curriculum. We combine science, technology, engineering, math, gardening, and literacy into engaging daily experiences, preparing children to become confident, independent, and enthusiastic lifelong learners. Our classrooms are designed to encourage exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care.
The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in ensuring the smooth, effective, and compliant operation of the Huntingdon Valley campus. This role combines administrative leadership, staff supervision, parent engagement, and curriculum support to maintain IE STEM’s high standards of education and care. The Assistant Director is a key point of contact for staff, families, and community partners, helping to create an environment where children, families, and educators thrive.
- Assist the Director in managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with all Pennsylvania childcare regulations.
- Oversee and maintain staff and student records, ensuring all licensing requirements are met.
- Support scheduling, payroll submissions, and staff coverage planning.
- Assist with enrollment processes, including tours, registration, and orientation for new families.
- Monitor and uphold health and safety policies, including emergency preparedness procedures.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to teaching staff.
- Support staff training, onboarding, and professional development.
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and ensure quality learning experiences.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative, and professional workplace culture.
- Serve as a point of contact for families, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with planning and coordinating family events, open houses, and community outreach.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents through regular communication and updates.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement and enhance the IE STEM curriculum.
- Monitor lesson plans and classroom environments to ensure alignment with educational standards and program goals.
- Assist in organizing enrichment activities, field trips, and special programs.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (or equivalent experience per PA regulations).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in early childhood education, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania childcare licensing requirements.
