Operations Manager- 2nd Shift

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and logistics processes. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflows, maximizing productivity, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across all departments. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience managing teams in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise and lead warehouse supervisors, shipping/receiving staff, forklift operators, and other operational teams.
  • Set performance expectations, monitor KPIs, and provide coaching and mentorship to staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage hiring, training, and development of team members.
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control operations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor workflows to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and within company quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including customer service, sales, and transportation, to ensure seamless operations.
Inventory & Logistics Management
  • Ensure accurate inventory tracking through warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Partner with carriers and logistics providers to manage freight scheduling, costs, and performance.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks within shipping and receiving processes.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Enforce company policies, OSHA standards, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper training on safety protocols and equipment usage.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
Reporting & Strategic Planning
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on productivity, costs, and efficiency.
  • Forecast labor needs, budget requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce costs and increase profitability.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of warehouse, logistics, or operations management experience; trucking industry background preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
    •  Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    •  Knowledge of warehouse management systems, shipping regulations, and inventory control
    •  Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving abilities
    •  Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and oversee warehouse activities for extended periods.
