Assembler/Wirer description :
Fits, assembles, erects, installs, wires, and repairs low voltage switchboards and control panels for electrical systems and equipment.
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
• Must have strong language skills.
• Must be able to read a tape measure/rule and use hand tools.
• Must be able to lift panels onto work bench (50 lbs)
· Experience in building Control Panels, including:
• The ability to read and interpret assembly drawings. wiring diagrams and schematics and the ability to follow wiring diagram to wire control panel parts is an essential part of this job
· Other skills required
• The ability to pull parts from inventory
• The ability to layout parts on the back panel
• The ability to drill and tap back panel to mount parts
• The ability to lay out front door of control panel
• The ability to drill and punch holes on door to mount operators
• The ability to label panel and parts.
• Good eye hand coordination and manual dexterity required
Responsibilities
· Assemble electro-mechanical housings and subassemblies, assemble cables, and connectors.
· Maintain accurate paperwork and completes reports in a timely fashion.
· Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams required.
· Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
· Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
· Performs testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards
· Other duties may be assigned to facilitate the completion of a project
