Under the direction of the Manager of Process Engineering, the Process Engineer – Level II is responsible for developing solutions to production problems relating to safety, processes and tooling. The incumbent supports new programs by developing manufacturing processes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinates manufacturing processes in the factory/Hand and Die forging processes.
- Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
- With minimal supervision, collaborates with other departments within company's Engineering to ensure successful: Product design, Forging materials, Fabrication processes, Tooling and production equipment capabilities, Assembly methods for dies, clamp systems and holders, and Quality control standards
- Applies statistical methods to drive process and product improvements.
- Analyzes, designs, and plans:
- Workspace requirements, Workflow, Equipment layout, Maximize efficiency, Provide information for management decisions, Estimate production times, and Staffing requirements and related costs
- Advises Methods Tech’s and Process Engineer I employees regarding departmental practices.
- Directly contacts and coordinates with outside vendors for requirements such as equipment, materials and parts and verifying product specifications.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent in English.
- Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and machining practices, mechanical design, finite element analysis, strength of materials and failure modes required.
- Must be able to read blueprints and prepare drawings and layouts.
- Ability to complete product definition, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Experience in designing mechanical components, fixtures and tooling.
- Computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint,).
- 3D CAD experience (CATIA is preferred).
- Physical requirements (be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, climb, etc.).
Compensation: $100,000.00 - $107,000.00 per year
