Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sushi Helper to support our sushi kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and help the sushi chefs with daily kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients such as vegetables, rice, sauces, and other sushi components.
- Wash, cut, and organize ingredients according to kitchen standards.
- Assist sushi chefs with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks.
- Keep workstations, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Properly store and label food ingredients.
- Help with receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when needed.
- Maintain a fast, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Follow instructions from sushi chefs and kitchen management.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn sushi preparation and kitchen techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies when necessary.
- Food handler certification is a plus, if required by local regulations.
