We are looking for an energetic, organized, and dog-loving Assistant Manager to join our leadership team!
Position Overview
As the Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Ownership Team to oversee day-to-day operations, ensure smooth retail and salon workflows, lead and inspire staff, and maintain high standards of customer service. You will act as a key leader on the floor, driving sales, assisting customers, supporting grooming operations, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Leadership
- Support the Store Ownership Team in daily operational tasks, store open/close procedures, and inventory management.
- Lead by example on the sales floor, driving revenue and ensuring an outstanding experience for every customer and pet.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels, receiving shipments, restocking retail shelves, and maintaining floor visual standards.
- Help train, coach, and support retail associates and team members.
Grooming Salon Support & Customer Care
- Assist with scheduling, client check-ins/check-outs, and phone inquiries for the salon.
- Help manage salon scheduling to ensure efficient appointment flow and excellent client communication.
- Address customer questions, offer tailored product recommendations (nutrition, treats, toys, care supplies), and resolve client concerns with professionalism.
Team & Work Environment
- Foster a positive, cooperative, and energetic team culture across retail and grooming operations.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently met throughout the retail space and grooming salon.
- Step in to handle transactions, pet fittings, or general store duties whenever needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in retail management, assistant management, or keyholder roles preferred. Experience in pet care, grooming salons, or specialty retail is a strong plus!
- Passion for Pets: Genuine love for dogs and enthusiasm for pet health, nutrition, and wellness.
- Customer Service: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of delivering great customer experiences.
- Leadership: Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to motivate team members.
- Organization: Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and comfortably lift up to 40 lbs (e.g., bags of dog food, pet supplies).
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional peak/holiday hours.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
