About Us
We are a nationally recognized leader in early childhood education, with 500+ centers nationwide. We are dedicated to providing high-quality childcare and creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children learn, grow, and thrive.
We believe every child develops at their own pace and deserves an educator who understands and supports their individual needs.
We are seeking an experienced, patient, and passionate Lead Two-Year-Old Teacher who truly understands toddler development, classroom management, and the diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs of young children.
We are looking for more than someone who enjoys working with children. Our ideal candidate understands the unique challenges of working with two-year-olds, including emerging language skills, emotional regulation, independence, challenging behaviors, and developmental differences.
The right teacher is confident, nurturing, proactive, and able to create a structured classroom where every child feels safe, supported, and successful.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Leadership & Management
• Lead a classroom of two-year-olds with patience, consistency, and confidence.
• Establish structured daily routines, clear expectations, and positive classroom management strategies.
• Guide and support assistant teachers to maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom.
• Create a positive environment that encourages independence, social skills, and emotional development.
Child Development & Individualized Support
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of typical and atypical toddler development.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to diverse developmental, sensory, communication, and behavioral needs.
• Use positive guidance, redirection, and developmentally appropriate strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
• Support children with emerging language skills, separation anxiety, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
• Observe developmental progress and communicate concerns professionally with administration and families.
Curriculum & Family Communication
• Implement our curriculum through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate different learning styles and developmental abilities.
• Maintain consistent communication with families regarding their child's progress and daily experiences.
• Ensure compliance with Florida DCF licensing requirements, classroom ratios, and health and safety standards.
Qualifications
Required
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working specifically with toddlers or two-year-olds in a licensed childcare setting.
• Strong understanding of toddler development, including language, social-emotional, cognitive, and physical milestones.
• Experience managing challenging toddler behaviors using positive, developmentally appropriate strategies.
• Ability to recognize and support children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Patience, emotional maturity, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to lead a classroom independently while collaborating with assistant teachers and administration.
• Ability to meet applicable Florida DCF childcare personnel and training requirements.
Preferred
• CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Lead Toddler Teacher.
• Experience supporting children with developmental delays, speech delays, sensory differences, or behavioral challenges.
• Knowledge of positive behavior support, inclusive classroom practices, and early intervention strategies.
• Familiarity with Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards.
